Name Change

When a well-established business announces a new name, the change often means new ownership, a new location; or a new management philosophy. As The Center for Personal Finance announces its new name, CEO and founder Mark Schupbach explains that the change begins and ends with the transition to CPF Texas.

"Our team remains the same, we're all staying put at our headquarters at Two Legacy Town Center in Plano, and our philosophy is absolutely unchanged," Schupbach says. "Our philosophy has always been what sets us apart from the rest, so we are telling people that the only difference they will find with CPF's new name is the same difference as always."

Schupbach founded CPF Texas as The Center for Personal Finance in Dallas in 1985. From the beginning, a different mindset has distinguished his team from investment advisors who focus solely on the accumulation of wealth to the exclusion of meaningful goals. Financial advisors at CPF are more concerned with what Schupbach calls the "return on life" than simply the return on investment.

While most CPF clients already enjoy success according to the usual economic measures, they still feel the call of goals or dreams they have yet to achieve. CPF financial advisors act as coach, confidant and catalyst, providing strategy and planning for clients to pursue their goals as they navigate life's transitions; for example, starting a business, adding to their family, building a second home, planning for or entering retirement, or changing careers.

After 22 years of successful operation, CPF has expanded to serve a sizable client base that includes successful business owners, medical specialists, corporate executives, attorneys and accountants. Texas is home to 91 percent of them. The name change to CPF Texas acknowledges the company's growth across the state and also allows it to conduct its Web operations from a site that reflects that: www.CPFTexas.com will replace www.CPFDallas.com.

Today CPF guides clients through the design and implementation of personalized, long-term financial strategies using the same approach Schupbach pioneered when he founded the company.

"We are privileged to help people plan toward, prepare for, and work through life's transitions," Schupbach says. "Most people's resources can ultimately deliver the 'return on life' they seek, and the process begins with a thorough examination of the client's resources, dreams and goals. CPF Texas finds the path that connects them."
